The Wellness Center District Manager oversees the operational, financial and customer services aspects of their assigned Wellness Centers. Lead effective operations through the Leadership Competencies. Assist in interviewing, on-boarding and training new Wellness Center Supervisors and staff.

  • Oversight of operational issues to include administrative, accounting, facilities, and inventory of multiple wellness center locations
  • Discuss progress, provide general direction and work with teams, providing insight and guidance
  • Live our competencies and reinforce our brand promise with our partners, pet parents, medical staff and team members

  • Discuss progress, provide general direction and work with teams, providing insight and guidance
  • Live our competencies and reinforce our brand promise with our partners, pet parents, medical staff and team members
  • Manage employee retention by providing a positive working environment and addressing employee concerns/issues in a timely manner
  • Communicate regularly with Regional Director / Senior Area Manager and corporate staff 
  • Establish and maintain partnership with District Medical Directors and Veterinarians in assigned wellness centers
  • Facilitate communication to wellness centers, through regular in-person, phone and virtual correspondence
  • Delegate appropriate responsibilities and duties to assigned staff as necessary to support the business. 
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and set clear expectations. Determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement through continued collaboration with Regional Director/ Senior Area Manager
  • Analyze sales results and trends to achieve increases and maximize results
  • Formulate and implement center goals and strategies 
  • Communicate marketing initiatives to staff and ensure execution 
  • Establish, build and maintain relationships with partner staff and community outreach groups within the wellness center oversight
  • Support and communicate the organization’s policies and procedures, priorities, and professional standards
  • Maintain flexibility to adhere to the needs of the business, requiring 50 to 75% travel
  • Must enjoy and be comfortable working with pets of all sizes and temperaments, including handling and lifting animals as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Industry relevant experience
  • Minimum two years of experience in multi-unit management, or combination of experiences which would lend itself to broad exposure of operational functions
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Safe driving record
  • Clean MVR 
  • Ability to drive motor vehicles in various terrain and weather conditions
  • Sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Work for prolonged periods of time at a desk utilizing a computer
  • Work for prolonged periods of time in the field, including 12-14 hours days on occasion
  • Fast-paced, fluid work environment
  • Lift up to 150 pounds assisted, up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Stand/walk/move about for prolonged periods of time while at a clinic
  • Schedule includes weekends, with occasional overnight and holiday work
  • Ability to travel up to 50 – 75% of time

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Degree in Business Administration, Management or Operations preferred 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Basic Human Resources principles
  • Basic accounting principles
  • Degree in Business Administration, Management or Operations preferred
  • Critical thinking skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams to direct and lead company initiatives and goals

  • Ability to switch focus rapidly in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Time and Attendance/ HR Software, Scheduling Database, iPad) 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Must be able to lift 150 pounds assisted  and 50 pounds unassisted
