Distinctive Home & Healthcare is Hiring a Physician Near Florence, SC

Overview

Distinctive Home & Health Care is a leading provider of healthcare to serve military installations across the United States. Our team of professionals is dedicated to providing the highest quality of service and support for each one of our clients.

Distinctive Healthcare is currently seeking to hire full time Physician to work at the at the Florence VA Clinic in Florence, SC.

Responsibilities

The Physician may be assigned to work at any one of the CBOC locations for a minimum of a one (1) month period. A full day would require personnel to be present at the facility during normal operating hours from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (excluding lunch), Monday through Friday.

  • The Physician shall perform the same duties as those required of any Columbia HCS Primary Care physicians of similar experience and in similar duty assignments.
  • Each physician shall be expected to evaluate and treat approximately eight (8) to twelve (12) patients during normal working hours within twenty (20) minutes of scheduled appointment or sooner. The standard Primary Care provider daily schedule includes twelve (12) - thirty (30) minute slots per day that can accommodate established (30 minutes) and/or new (60 minutes) patients; appointments shall be via face to face, telephonic or VA Video Connect (VVC):
  • Six (6) new patients per day; or eight (8) established patients
  • Two (2) new patients per day; or twelve (12) established patients per day
  • Physicians shall be expected to remain on duty until all patients in the clinic have been treated and released. 
  • Patients must be able to schedule an appointment within fourteen (14) business days of receipt of desired date of the patient.
  • Physicians providing services shall comply with VA requirements for documentation of care in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS). Electronic entry and signing of orders are required. Appropriate documentation of services and response to “View Alerts” shall be performed within established time frames, normally within forty-eight (48) hours and shall not exceed fifty (50). The Contractor’s employee(s) shall be required to utilize CPRS to enter progress notes, order medications and diagnostic tests, to place consults, and respond to secure messaging as well as utilize electronic mail or other sources to receive inquiries.
  • Encounters shall be closed as soon as possible or within forty-eight (48) hours of the appointment; all encounters shall be closed no later than the second day of the next month to meet Medical Center guidelines.
  • The Physician shall be actively involved in Patient Complaint Resolution. Physician shall contact patients and provide responses to the CMO, Nurse Manager or AO in order to resolve any patient complaints to include PATS-R, VA White House Hotline, all other avenues of official and/or unofficial Patient complaints and concerns regarding quality of care. All patient complaints are investigated, reviewed, and actioned within the specified reporting timelines.
  • The VA pharmaceutical formulary shall be used and shall be adhered to when prescribing medications.
  • The Physician must have his/her own stethoscope and white lab coat in performance of this service.
  • Comply with any mandatory annual medical/government required training and health and immunization requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. This degree musthave been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association;Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission onOsteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting bodyrecognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate MedicalEducation (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained (e.g. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeonsof Canada (RCPSC), College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). A Doctor of Medicine orequivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledgesubstantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accreditedschools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission forForeign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical educationin the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S.Medical Licensing Examination.
  • Certification: Board eligible or board certified.
  • Internship/Residency: Successful completion of an internship and residency program which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate MedicalEducation or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association.Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have hadat least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (i.e., a 1-year internshipor the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training). Forpurposes of this requirement, graduate training programs include only those internship, residency, andfellowship programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the United States orCanada. Descriptions of such programs are described below.o An internship program involves broadly based clinical practice in which physicians acquireexperience in treating a variety of medical problems under supervision (e.g., internal medicine,surgery, general practice, obstetrics-gynecology, and pediatrics). Such programs are in hospitals orother institutions accredited for internship training an appropriate accrediting body.o A residency program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a hospital or aninstitution accredited for training in the specialty by an appropriate accrediting body.o A fellowship program involves advanced training (beyond residency training) in a given medicalspecialty in either a clinical or research setting in a hospital or an institution accredited in theUnited States for such training.
  • Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specificcredentialing instructions.
  •  Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
