The Opportunity

DiStefano Brothers Construction is looking for a Designer to help continue our team’s success as a leader in the local design-build industry.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Designer to become an integral part of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply established industry standard knowledge under the direction of Project Managers in the planning, design, and coordination of design solutions.
  • Create code compliant design plans including schematic design drawings, detailed interior and exterior elevations, and design renderings
  • Prepare construction drawings and presentation details including framing and utility plans, building and wall section plans as well as room finish schedules
  • Research and select colors/finishes/materials under the direction of Project Managers.
  • Assist in estimating and developing design projects.
  • Formulate designs that are practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes, such as improving lifestyle, increasing market value, aging-in-place, etc.
  • Perform routine checking and/or verification tasks for planning and ordering.
  • Support business development activities as finish boards or client presentations. 
  • Assist in site surveys & documentation as necessary.
  • Complete all required technology tasks including accurate time tracking, reading and responding to intercompany emails and CoConstruct updates.
  • Carry out novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
  • Participate in all project meetings as required.
  • Follow company’s Project Development processes and systems.
  • Work the necessary hours per week in order to perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Participate in learning opportunities provided by company as well as industry partners.

Skill Set Required

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in design/remodeling industry, kitchen & bath preferred.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard design protocols, drawing management, and project delivery. 
  • Ability to represent the Company to the public by exhibiting design expertise and knowledge of market constraints, trends and costs.
  • Possess working knowledge of construction processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills - Chief Architect / Revit / AutoCAD / Microsoft Suite & Google Workspace preferred.
  • Self-starter, quick learner, team player.
  • Flexible and adaptable. 
  • Positive and friendly demeanor.
  • Prioritizes and manages time effectively.
  • Excels working in a fast paced, open, collaborative and creative environment.
