University of Wyoming is Hiring a Library Specialist - Resource Discovery & Management Division Near Laramie, WY

The purpose of the position is to extract and provide data from library systems and gather statistics related to bulk processes to inform team and division decision-making. Work with electronic resources and end-users to ensure adequate access to acquired materials. Navigate and interpret licensing parameters for electronic resources. Communicate to resolve issues and respond to library data requests from internal and external groups. Generate usage data and compile acquisitions and collections statistics for diverse audiences. Assist with organizing and processing library gift collection donations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform record loading, editing, gathering, and exporting, including pre-load and post-load editing following procedures established and documented by the metadata librarians and supervisor. Assist with editing and testing of import profiles for bulk loading of records.
Order complex monographic materials in various formats from established vendors. Purchase on-time materials and renewals with the University procurement credit card. Assist with setting up and updating vendors in systems.
Perform adaptive and derived cataloging of assigned materials in multiple physical and electronic formats for new purchases and gift donations. Identify and resolve cataloging issues, and resolve those referred by others, using advanced knowledge of library cataloging rules and procedures. Assist with handling library gift donations, including reviewing lists, receiving materials, condition checking, and de-duplicating items in the library system.
Provide discovery system support and maintain proficiency with statistical methods in order to generate the report for analysis, maintenance, data gathering, and troubleshooting in cooperation with the discovery group.
Examine and troubleshoot problems related to licensing of electronic resources, maintenance, data gathering, and orders and claims in cooperation with the acquisition and electronic resources group.
Create, revise, and update manuals and documentation for tasks related to job duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: One year of library or other relevant work experience
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: None
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with an integrated library system, such as Alma
Experience with library acquisitions and/or library cataloging
Knowledge of or experience with record loading, editing, gathering, and exporting
Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheet creation programs such as Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated attention to detail
Excellent written communication skills
Demonstrated organizational skills
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability
