Position Summary:

The Production Manager role is vital to the manufacturing process in this fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role may work on any shift as necessary. Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Main Responsibilities/Duties:

-Responsible for day to day supervision of production personnel regarding work needs, quality, safety, utilization and other aspects of production performance. As a floating supervisor, monitor employees in both RTE production areas, the bakery and other areas of the facility that may be engaged in production activities.

-Work with Line Supervisors to manage individual performance issues of line workers in areas such as attendance, performance reviews, training and development.

-Stand in for Line Supervisors in their absence. Coach line leads to develop their work and leadership skills. Assist the various lines to expedite shift start-up or turnover.

-Perform administrative duties as required such as payroll, timeclock, and attendance tracking

-Perform other duties in support of Safety Program and Inventory management such as safety inspections, housekeeping inspections, equipment inspections, inventory counts, etc.

-Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.

-Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

-Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.

-Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

Should be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of:

Examples:
GMP’s, Food safety, Food contaminants, Sanitation
Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Label Maker
Production equipment to include mixers, pumps, depositors, etc.
Support equipment to include printers, metal detectors, thermometers, scales, etc.
Time Clock system

1. Must be able to walk production area for majority of work shifts. Work shifts may extend beyond 12 hours in overtime situations, include weekends or alternate work schedule arrangements.
2. Must be able to work at desk using computer, telephone and other basic office equipment effectively.
3. Must be physically able to work in sometimes awkward situations with manufacturing equipment and handle weights of up to 40 pounds as necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
