Position Overview The Data Scientist is responsible for modeling complex problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. In addition to advanced analytic skills, this role is also proficient at integrating and preparing large, varied datasets, architecting specialized database and computing environments, and communicating results. Responsibilities Must be able to… Design experiments, test hypotheses, and build models Conduct data analysis and complex design algorithms from varied data sources Model and frame business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions Present and depict the rationale of their findings in easy to understand terms for the business Other typical tasks may also include... Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience Minimum/Essential Qualifications: Associate's degree in an IT or related field 4 years of relevant experience in IT Must be detail Orientated Continually striving to gather current knowledge and information relevant to business needs in order to achieve results Actively exchange ideas with others and build on their ideas to identify new solutions Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times Able to work independently or collaboratively and maintain a positive attitude Able to initiate action and build relationships within the department Outstanding planning & Organizational skills Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body Must demonstrate the following behavioral competencies; analytical capacity, attention to detail, communication proficiency, customer/client focus, ethical conduct, initiative, manages execution, personal effectiveness/credibility, positive attitude, problem solving, professionalism, project management, thoroughness, and time management Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in data science or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0, or relevant work experience Digi‑Key Electronics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
