DiGeronimo Companies is Hiring a Traveling Foreman (Independence Excavating) Near Pittsburgh, PA

Traveling Foreman

Independence Excavating is looking for a Traveling Foreman to execute a seamless jobsite daily. The Foreman will report to the Superintendent and be a liaison between the field workers and managers involved with the project. You will be responsible for coordinating daily tasks, material deliveries and oversee the quality of the jobsite. This position travels 90-100% from job to job upon completion, so any qualified person in any city is welcome to apply if you are open to that travel requirement.

A typical day looks like:

  • Reading, understanding, and interpreting drawings and specifications
  • Reviewing and understanding a detailed list of Subcontracts and Purchase Orders along with contacts with the Project Manager prior to the start of the job
  • Coordinating subcontractors and material deliveries. Releasing all pre-purchased materials. Reviewing all shipping inventory before signing the packing slip
  • Responsible for general and specific safety practices, following company safety manual procedures, and cooperating with our safety representative in a positive proactive manner
  • Monitoring Subcontractor / Supplier costs

 Do you have what it takes?

  • High school diploma with additional schooling (AS or BS degree) or equivalent experience preferred; computer/site technology skills a plus
  • At least 5 years’ experience
  • Must effectively manage workforces including Operators, Teamsters, and Laborer if applicable
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with employees, external vendors, owners, and general contractors
  • Must have strong organizational skills in order to handle the variety of tasks assigned
  • Foreman / Superintendents are expected to work all necessary overtime. Salaried Foreman / Superintendents are based on 50/Hrs. per week average
  • Traveling is required about 100% of the time
