A Field Safety Specialist is responsible for various jobsite functions including, but not limited to:

  • Supporting job site and/or sites operations teams and their execution of their safety and health plans
  • Developing, implementing, and enforcing site specific health and safety plans
  • Conducting investigations of accidents, incidents, property damage, injuries, and fatalities
  • Assists in updating all department specific policy and procedural manuals
  • Assisting the Safety Managers with external safety-related inspections and follow- up on required corrective action when warranted
  • Other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?

  • Post-secondary education (BS or BA) or Associates Degree (preferred, but not required)
  • CHST certification or equivalent
  • Must have problem solving skills and desire to seek solutions to unsafe working conditions and environmental concerns on our constantly changing jobsites
  • 3-5 years’ experience in construction safety or in a managerial position that required safety as part of your job responsibilities
  • Construction trade work experience (laborer, operator, carpenter, etc.) (preferred, but not required)
  • OSHA 30, and various associated safety training and certifications
  • OSHA 500 preferred, but not required
  • Must have thorough knowledge of OSHA, VOSH, and EPA regulations and construction safety guidelines
  • This job is physically demanding and prospects must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Prospects must be able to work on project sites in all weather conditions
  • Must be bilingual
