Dietary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare various foods depending on menu created by dieticians for each meal of the day.
  • Operate various kitchen equipment in preparation for the meal, e.g., mixer, meat slicer, food processor, oven, steamer.
  • Required to clean work surfaces following shift: sweep floors, wipe down counter space, cover, and store unused foods.
  • Must be able to create meals that are appropriate for the elderly and in large quantities. Employee is required to use institutional-sized cookware.
  • Must be able to work at a constant pace to ensure that food is ready for each meal of the day.
  • Accurately follows diet cards when serving residents.
  • Takes and documents food temperatures.
  • Follows portion control guidelines.
  • May be required to fill in gaps in kitchen help.
  • Required to ensure cleanliness of facility
  • Promptly and expediently responds to residents call pendants
  • Required to do all things necessary for the resident’s health, safety, and welfare

Dietary Qualifications: Previous experience working in food service preferred -
(will train the right person)

  • Must have a willingness to interact with senior residents daily.
  • Must be available weekends.
