Dierbergs Markets is Hiring a Beverage Center Manager Near Greater St. Louis Area, MO
Ready to get the party started?
We call it the Party Center - our beer, wine and spirits headquarters at Dierbergs. You'll call it a great opportunity to showcase your business- and customer-focused skills in a supportive environment where you'll constantly learn and develop your expertise in the world of wine, beer and liquor. Are you a restaurant industry pro who's already immersed in the liquor/beer/wine world but tired of insane hours, no benefits and no control over your income? A retail professional who's over the inconsistency of commission? There is a better way: join Dierbergs as our Beverage Center Manager. In this 100% hands-on, primarily vendor relationship-focused role, your day involves:
Leading, directing and supervising the activity of store vendors
Maintaining exceptional department standards and conditions, including properly stocked shelves, tagged and merchandised products and display integrity
Managing ordering, shipment and inventory control processes
Directing wine tastings and in-store promotional events, educating customers in wine profiles and food pairings and keeping up to date on industry trends and products
Assisting with customer concerns, special orders and promoting an environment that ensures the highest levels of service
Why Dierbergs is different
Our culture sets us apart. Dierbergs is known for Midwestern values, strong customer focus and most importantly, for treating each other like family.
You'll enjoy the stability of working for an organization with a strong history of success while representing select wine, beer and liquor brands.
Unlike the chaos of a bar or restaurant, you'll provide personalized customer and vendor service as you establish Dierbergs as the store of choice to shop for wine, beer and spirits.
You'll enjoy benefits rarely found in the restaurant or retail industry.
What you need to succeed
Knowledge and experience in sales of a large selection of wine, beer and spirits; wine and cheese pairing knowledge with CSW or CSS certification a plus
A business-minded approach and understanding of variables affecting store overall profitability, including inventory control and operating expenses
Stable work history to include two years working directly with customers in a retail or customer service environment
Experience in merchandising and vendor relations
Ability to move throughout the store and work on your feet for up to eight hours and operate electric pallet jack, high lift, baler, hand jack and safety cutter
