Job description

• Following drawings / work Instructions, machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc.

• Ensure parts are manufactured to stated requirements, including necessary quality inspection
• Ensure proper setup of machines to minimize discrepant parts
• Responsible for the quality of product being manufactured against drawing
• Measure, examine, and test completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauge pins
• Complete records / quality documentation and sign off
• Minimize machine downtime
• Cross train on several machine types as required
• Skill development of self and fellow team members
• Support Lean Manufacturing Initiatives to enhance Continuous Improvement
• Inspect equipment and perform basic machine maintenance

Job Requirements (education and experience)

• Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees, and customers

• Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values

• Read measuring tape, gauges, and calipers
• Basic assembly

• High School diploma or GED
• Basic math and reading skills
• Must be able to read understand and follow work instructions in English
• Assembly experience is a plus
• Experience with power tools and/or industrial machinery
• Ability to utilize inspection equipment
• Minimum 3 years working in a manufacturing environment/machine shop
• Proficiency with heavy machinery including lathe, drill press, grinding wheel, chop saw, and mill
• Ability to sequence or edit programs on lathe and prototrak
• Ability to utilize inspection equipment
• Must be able to lift and move up to 20 lbs
