Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Transportation Planner to join our Transportation department in our Rancho Cordova, CA office to work on a variety of projects for clients.

Responsibilities

Qualified candidates must have the ability to manage and coordinate assignments independently and with a multi-disciplinary team. Candidates in this position will:

  • Develop and prepare planning documents and studies related to transportation issues
  • Be proficient with ArcGIS and prepare GIS maps to support planning projects and grants
  • Conduct research and data collection necessary for planning level analysis
  • Plan and prepare for community engagement activities and develop outreach materials such as flyers, meeting notices, boards, PowerPoint presentations, surveys, websites and social media posts.
  • Assist in writing and compiling data and graphics for competitive grant applications
  • Provide staff augmentation for local agency clients with Senior staff support (Engineering and Planning related work)
  • Effectively manage assigned tasks and interacting with teams of staff, subconsultants, and clients including in-person and tele/video conference meetings
  • Support the preparation of proposals and statements of qualifications in response to RFPs and RFQs.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Possess a BS Degree in City and Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, or related field.
  • 3-8 years of relevant professional experience as a planner or related field, transportation emphasis and experience in California is a bonus
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be able to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects with critical timelines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Highly proficient with MS Office suite (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, Excel).
  • Proficient, or willing to become proficient, with ArcGIS and Adobe Creative Suite products

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.

The projected range for this position is $70,000-$110,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
