Job Description

Dewberry has an immediate need for a CAD Technician Intern to join our Pensacola, Florida office and participate on the Civil Design team working with engineers, project managers, and other professionals. This position emphasizes design and plan set preparation of residential, multi-family, and commercial projects. Work activities may include; grading, pipe networks, alignments, profiles, sections, and redline drafting for conceptual, preliminary, and final design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining AutoCad 3D or Microstation engineering drawings that compile to create a set of permitable plans.
• Prepare designs from general instruction and preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics.
• Prepare working drawings from conceptual plan, to PSP or Development Plan, final engineering documents and construction record drawings.
• Coordinate with other team members including engineers, managers, administrative staff and construction staff members.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• High school diploma required. AA in CAD in progress preferred.

• 0-2 years of experience as a CADD designer (AutoCad 3D or Microstation) with civil emphasis.

• Experience using Civil 3D, and/or Geopak to create surfaces, alignments and profiles is preferred.

• Strong interest and excels in Math.

• Willingness to assist with a wide range of projects and work with multiple project managers.

• Strong interest in all phases of Civil Engineering including land development, utilities, water resources, and construction.

• High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to ask for additional direction and assistance when needed.
