Dew Construction is Hiring an Assistant Project Manager Near Manchester, NH

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team! This position is responsible for helping to oversee the planning and implementation of an entire project from preconstruction through construction. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for helping lead the project team through this process while ensuring that quality, schedule, cost, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives are met.

Essential Skills:

  • Process - extensive knowledge of, and respect for, the whole construction process.
  • Accountability - ability to set goals, hold yourself accountable, deliver on commitments, take accountability for mistakes and setbacks, good time management, not overcommit or under-commit yourself, and hold yourself accountable to grow and improve.
  • Communication – the ability to show confidence, authority, listen, volume, clarity, empathy, respect, open-mindedness, provide feedback, effective body language, persuasion, the effectiveness of written communication, and effectiveness in presenting the information.
  • Relationships – the ability to gain mutual trust and respect with others, connect with others, express gratitude and appreciation, be positive, acknowledge mistakes and rectify them, have compassion, ability to build relationships with multiple types of personalities, ability to collaborate with others, solution-driven “can-do” attitude, patience.
  • Leadership - relationship building, ability to motivate others, decisiveness, negotiation, critical thinking, focus, results-driven, being a person others want to work with, self-awareness, delegation, organization, keeping your word, team building.
  • Team Building - Working with internal and external project members to build a cohesive solution-driven high-performance team. The ability to cooperate with team members, actively listen to others’ ideas, work collaboratively and proactively, and be open to taking and applying constructive feedback. A strong focus on leadership, building relationships, maintaining a positive mindset, and accomplishing aligned goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist as required during the preconstruction process.
  • Assist in the construction process in partnership with the Superintendent.
  • Review the terms and conditions of contracts.
  • Develop staffing and equipment plans, in partnership with the Superintendent, that identify resource needs for the construction of assigned projects.
  • Participate in project meetings at least once a week with project teams and manage meeting minutes.
  • Visit project sites at least once a week to manage issues, compare progress to schedule, assess the quality of work, and manage the relationship with the client.
  • Manage deadlines and push the team to ensure timeliness.
  • Time management skills, especially familiarity with calendar management and goal setting.
  • Coordinate with the owner, design consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Document control, in partnership with the project team.

Essential Experience:

  • Project management experience in the construction industry
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials, costing, scheduling
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Ability to think ahead and plan
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
