Principal Purpose of Position: The Pastry Cook is responsible for the preparation, inventory and maintenance of assigned stations or preparation projects for the baking and pastry department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Complete all tasks and duties as assigned by Pastry Chef
  • Responsible for knowledge of menu, use of approved recipes to prepare menu items and proper plate presentation
  • Mise en place (preparation and organization of assigned stations). This entails set up and thorough cleaning at end of shift
  • Knowledge of proper storage and handling of food
  • Knowledge of health codes
  • Follow safety precautions and procedures
  • Proper dating and labeling of food
  • Following through and maintaining par levels and prep list
  • Must be able to multi-task and plan effectively
  • Support and contribute to the overall success of the resort by accomplishing performance objectives focused on preparation of food
  • Pastry cooks will complete open and closing side work
  • Ensure Ranch Mission is executed
Other Duties:
  • Assignments given by Pastry Chef and/or Sous Chef
  • Knowledge of Events and Ranch Wide areas of the property
  • Supporting the F&B department as a whole during special events or holidays
Position Requirements: Must be available to work all shifts, weekdays/weekends, holidays/special occasions
Physical Demands: Lifting up to 60 pounds, general cleaning and sanitation, standing for prolonged periods of time, extensive walking on property, able to carry items up and down stairs
Personal Attributes: High level of communication skills; able to follow direction and work under minimal supervision at times. Must be a team player, positive attitude and cooperate effectively with other staff members.
Required Uniform: Chef coat (provided), checkered or black kitchen pants, non-slip black kitchen shoes (or approved color), hair restraint required (if needed), nail polish prohibited, accessories based on Chef approval, natural hair color
Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one year prior relevant experience in a professional restaurant or hotel/resort kitchen environment required. Pastry degree preferred.
Wage: $17/hr - $18/hr
