Dermatology Center Of The Rockies is Hiring a Medical Biller Near Longmont, CO

Dermatology practice in Longmont is looking for highly motivated and detail oriented person with experience in medical billing

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible for coding and following up on all insurance claims. Posting insurance and private payments.
  • Processes bills on a daily basis. Generate sheet weekly for electronic processing.
  • Generates monthly A/R reports for all accounts greater than 60 days past due for all pay classes. Ensuring proper collection procedures.
  • Phones those accounts that are 60 days past due.
  • Establishes possible payment plans if appropriate and agreeable.
  • Maintains daily logs of patients expected to pay; follows up on non-payments.
  • Process previous day’s bills, collections and codes. Generate claims and submit electronically.
  • Post all monies coming in daily to patient accounts, patient and insurance payments.
  • Pulls remittance daily, posts or collects send claims.
  • Works with supervisor to determine which accounts need appropriate tracer letters when over 90 days past due.
  • Pulls copies of insurance claim forms from the tickler file each morning, checks system to determine whether the claim has been paid, and sends appropriate tracer letters if not.
  • Meets with supervisor weekly to discuss problem accounts and plans for upcoming week.
  • Monitors daily appointment schedules to become aware of scheduled patients with open balances exceeding 90 days and phones patients prior to their arrival.
  • Takes calls from patients and/or insurance carriers. Discusses accounts with patients and provides whatever information is required by insurance companies to get claim paid.
  • Reviews the accounts aging analysis report monthly to determine the accounts requiring immediate attention (after 60 days and over $500 balance are priority). Making phone calls or other collection follow up
  • Secondary Responsibilities
  • Assists receptionist with overflow of incoming calls.
  • Assists medical assistant department if experience allows
  • Backs up check-out personnel as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.
