WHAT IS THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION?

NFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ENTERPRISE OPERATIONS
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
Ensures the integration of IT programs and services; develops solutions to integration/interoperability issues; designs, develops and manages IT security systems that meet current and future business requirements and applies or extends, enhances, or optimizes the existing architecture; manages assigned projects; communicates complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel; and prepares and presents briefings to senior management officials on complex/controversial issues. Such work assignments include leading IT systems development projects from design to support; evaluating the effectiveness of installed systems and services; and providing advice on and devising solutions to a wide range of IT issues. Specific assignments areas include work such as the following assignments:
Develops EOps policy and provides expert advice regarding the development, testing, debugging and maintenance of unique, extremely complex or long-range computer program applications, utilities and process routines to be used in the automation of server deployment.
Serves as a subject matter expert for leaders of complicated Servicewide projects. Reviews technical accuracy of projects. Conducts periodic inspection of computer specifications and programming code developed by assigned IT Specialists, monitors problems encountered by assigned IT Specialists to determine if individuals require closer supervision or additional training and provides feedback to the Section Chief. Adjusts workload among project leaders to ensure timely completion of all projects assigned.
Develops comprehensive processing specifications for computer applications programs, taking into account various hardware and software configurations that apply, interface needs and requirements with other subsystems and the inputs/outputs, processing sequences and edits criteria required for automation of server deployment by the IRS.

Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal Service. Examples of specialized experience includes You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. This experience must include Information Technology (IT) related experience that demonstrates each of the following four competencies: 1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication and 4) Problem Solving. Specialized experience for this position includes, Experience that demonstrates accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated through assignments that required the ability to analyze a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of IT system design. This would include defining what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project.
