Description
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a full-time, exempt position of Denver Rescue Mission (DRM). The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) reports directly to the Human Resources Director (HRD) and is primarily responsible for conducting all employee recruiting by strategically and proactively evaluating active candidates to ensure adequate staffing of qualified employees for current and future workforce needs. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will develop, implement and manage effective, efficient, and consistent recruiting and hiring procedures by collaborating with the HR team and business line leaders to engage candidates and retain qualified individuals who demonstrate DRM’s culture and commitment to serving others.
Hiring Range: $57,900 - $77,100 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consult with leaders, hiring managers and human resources team on position needs, requisition creation, and posting of approved positions into Paylocity.
- May develop networks/partnerships and market DRM to community as workplace of choice to actively build a pipeline of candidates that meet DRM culture.
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
- May place and update all job postings in various medias including internet/intranet sites, recruiting platforms (i.e., Zip Recruiter) colleges, social networks, community boards and staffing partners. Foster strong collaboration with Marketing and Communications team.
- Represent DRM individually and as a team leader at recruiting events (i.e., college job fairs, community events; recruiting sessions), providing company/job information and interviewing applicants.
- Recruit and perform talent acquisition activities such as resume and phone screens, candidate interviews, recommend final selection of applicants to hiring managers for interviews and coordinate subsequent hiring actions as appropriate.
- Arrange pre-employment drug testing, background & reference screenings; and MVR verification for select candidates in coordination with HR Generalists. Provide clear and documented communication to hiring manager of status update using identified processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
HR Team Collaborator:
- Assist HR Generalists as needed with scheduling and conducting Onboarding, New Hire Orientations, and New Hire Experience including scheduling immediate need training and health/safety functions.
- Participate in special project work in the HR function, including driving process improvement, facilitating communication, and balancing the needs of employees with the needs of the Mission.
- Provide hands-on support to employees and managers to better understand and utilize HR tools, processes, and policies, maximizing organizational effectiveness and ensuring compliance.
- Act as a key partner to HRD and HR team in the development and implementation of workforce retention and engagement strategies and initiatives.
- Provide back-up support for Benefits Specialist, including but not limited to account reconciliations, benefits support, and other requests as assigned by HRD.
- Other HR responsibilities as assigned by the HRD.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or minimum 4 years substantially same job experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, Recruiter, or HR Generalist.
- Abide by the Employee Handbook

- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles, preferably in non-profit or social services organizations.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems. Paylocity experienced preferred, not required.
- Intermediate to Excellent skills in data entry and Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Must hold a current, valid Driver’s License and be willing to authorize a driver’s record background check and ability to travel for work-related events.
