The Global Security function is designed to facilitate the secure operation of a polycentric global firm, protecting our client's confidences and other confidential information, and securing our people, facilities, and systems. Leading that function is the Chief Security Officer, who is responsible for addressing these concerns across the Firm and coordinating with the IT, risk, and operations functions. The Chief Security Officer will report to the Global Chief Legal Officer; work closely with the Global Compliance Officer; and present as needed to the Global Management Committee, Global Board, and regional and local leadership

• Lead strategic and operational security activities, policies, and practices to enhance and protect the value of the firm and its global brand.
• Oversee a network of security staff who safeguard our clients' confidences and the firm's assets, intellectual property, IT systems, as well as the physical safety.

• Work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer and develop and deploy employee education and awareness training and activities.
• Identify protection goals, objectives and metrics consistent with the firm's strategic plans and objectives.
• Manage the development and implementation of global security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security. Implementation of global policies consistent with the laws and regulations of the jurisdiction in which the firm operates and its personnel are located.
• Co-ordinate physical protection responsibilities which will include asset protection, workplace violence prevention, access control systems, video surveillance, and more. Coordinate security for firm personnel including their travel and plan for their evacuation in case of crisis or medical emergency.
• Work with global and regional leadership to prioritize security initiatives and spending based on appropriate risk management and/or financial methodology.
• Support work with insurers to maximize coverage and minimize premiums on security related items
• Manage relationships with national, regional, and local law enforcement and other related government agencies.
• Oversee incident response and business continuity planning as well as the investigation of security breaches, and assist the legal and risk function with breaches and other matters as necessary.
• Lead internal investigations with oversight from the Chief Legal Officer.
• Work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent security audits/investigations. Represent the firm as Chief Security Officer in externally facing matters/conferences etc. Manage incident response and mitigation efforts.
• Work with legal and risk and communications on media statements in relation to security/crisis events.
• Provide advice in relation to geopolitical and other regional risks.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

• Experience advising complex global entities on security matters
• Experience leading security strategy for global organizations
• Minimum of ten years security related experience
• Law degree or relevant university degree
• English fluency
