Delta Air Lines, Inc. is Hiring a Principal Engineer Near United States, GA
- Validate of customer operating statistics (derate utilization, flight hour to cycle ratio, etc…) and provide concurrence for engine removals in collaboration with Engine Technical Services/Propulsion Operations engineering
- Collaborate with Engine Technical Services to monitor customer fleet for adverse engine health trends and identify intervention opportunities to maximize engine time on wing (i.e. Engine Wash and predictive component alerting)
- Monitor engine performance metrics and provide reporting to DTO leadership, identifying potential commercial risk drivers and solution strategies
- Engages with product OEM and maintains visibility of industry trends, service bulletins (on and off-wing) and drives implementation of beneficial communicates impact
- Maintain a forward looking 12 month engine removal schedule for program engines, including scheduled and unscheduled removal drivers (i.e. MPD borescopes) and communicate schedule risks or operational impacts to MRO and Finance teams
- Provide workscope control oversight for program engines and revise/optimize the customer specific Workscope Planning Guide based on shop findings and fleet performance
- Collaborate with Delta’s engine maintenance IPTs including to identify program optimization opportunities & risk, including repair opportunities and scrap salvage
- Benchmark program engine pass off test performance against DL and industry experience, mitigating adverse trends and optimizing workscope maintenance levels to customer operation
- Maintain compliance with applicable FAA, OSHA and EPA regulations and Delta's Technical Operations Policy and Procedures (TOPP) pertaining to the development of equipment alterations and repairs
- Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
