DELTA ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES, LLC is Hiring a Human Resources Specialist Near Metairie, LA

Job Responsibilities

Provide support to the Human Resource department and others as directed. Ensuring the overall new hire process is compliant, applications are received and processed within stringent timelines, create forms, manuals, policies, procedures, complex spreadsheets, filing, retrieving, faxing and copying documents (employee, client and other miscellaneous) and other duties as assigned.

Job Functions

  • Ensure all new hire applications are processed within timelines
  • Answer and screen incoming telephone calls; assist callers and take messages as required
  • Assist with incoming and outgoing mail
  • Assist with research
  • Provide Microsoft Suite processing support
  • Applications, Personnel Action Forms, Corrective Action Forms and Separation Notice forms
    • Follow-up with client regarding missing items
    • Completion of separation forms with the employees working state
    • Completion of address changes, Status changes, Job Change
    • Ensure items are saved in company document imaging system, HRIS and company shared drive
  • E-verify all applicants within a 72-hour turnaround
  • Process background check credentials for all new applicants as required
  • Process all eligible rehires
  • Training and competition of all rapid drug testing for new applicants
  • Mail monthly birthday cards to clients/employees
  • Assist with the preparation for special events
  • Completing in house new hire orientation
  • Ensure assistance with employees with any trouble shooting when necessary
  • Administers distribution of the mail
  • Responsible for ordering office supplies
  • Scan all company information into our paperless software as requested
  • Types, edits, proofs and coordinates the preparation and distribution of all promotional materials such as New Client Binders, Technical Training handouts, advertising kits, proposals and bulletins
  • Ensure office equipment is maintained according to specification (to include ordering for supplies, maintenance/repair and trouble shooting)
  • Ability to adapt to client specific request and/or requirements
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Assisting the Safety department with managing claims
  • Assumes other duties and or special projects as assigned by the HR team

Education and Experience

High School Degree or equivalency required plus one year of office /clerical support; prior HR experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 10-20 pounds
