Delaware Nation Industries is Hiring a Remote System Administrator
Overview
The candidate will provide maintenance to servers, support enterprise applications and have experience using implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Execute debug applications and resolving server issues, using VMware administration tools and Microsoft SQL Scripting.
- Participate in designing, planning and installation of new servers and software.
- Responsible to test, implement, configure, and maintain servers to support activities application programmers working in that environment.
- Provide support to VMWare/AWS virtual desktop development environment for up to 100 users.
- Maintains summary data which provides insights into processes that reflect pitfalls/delays in order to improve efficiency of process.
- Prepares timely responses to information requests requiring division leadership’s attention, assuring they are within the established deadlines and in accordance with division policies.
Responsibilities
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or closely related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience or a minimum of 7 years of experience to satisfy degree and experience requirements.
- 3 years of experience with Windows Servers.
- 3 years of demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office automation solutions.
- 3 years of experience with various application servers, including SQL, Web Servers, Tomcat and Apache and network support (such as DNS or DHCP) servers.
- Experience in administrating a AWS/Azure Cloud environments
- Vulnerability mitigation
- Knowledge and experience with various administration and security tools.
- Extensive hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting experience.
- Demonstrate the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritizes competing demands, and remains flexible in fast-paced and intense situations.
- Strong problem solving skills along with outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Periodically, to work after hours to apply server changes to production.
Qualifications
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Experience administering collaboration tools (i.e. JIRA, Servicenow, Documentum, Mindtouch Wiki).
- Technical Documentation and training experience using HCW’s (Host Characterization/Configuration Worksheets)
- Prior experience in working with federal agencies.
