Job Description
General Description: All accounting procedures
Essential Functions: 1. Preparation and computer posting of expenditures and receipts.
2. Prepare and process warrants for payment and transaction detail reconciliation.
3. Prepare all board of education and administration reports.
4. Responsible for state, federal, and other accounting systems, files and reports.
5. Responsible for purchase order number control assignment and proper account
coding.
6. Process and mail out-going purchase orders.
7. Process and certify billing and purchase orders for payment.
8. Assist Treasurer with cash-flow management.
9. Assist Treasurer with appropriation, budget development, and cost projections.
10. Responsible for accounting systems coordination.
11. Sort and distribute incoming office mail.
12. Administer student activity and athletic financial programs.
13. Assist in maintenance of all district accounting records in an organized and
efficient manner as prescribed by the Auditor, State of Ohio.
14. Maintain records and process all district insurance benefit programs as well as
manages the Cobra program.
15. Responsible for payroll systems coordination.
16. Process regular and special payroll runs.
17. Process completed checks for distribution.
18. Responsible for proper coding, account distribution, and trial balance.
19. Maintain district payroll files.
20. Assist with all payroll reports, city tax, state tax, and federal taxes.
21. Assist with processing of School Employees Retirement System (SERS) and
State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) new and terminated employee forms
and monthly reports.
22. Responsible for personnel data systems coordination.
23. Responsible for personnel related reports.
24. Responsible for internal operating reports and controls.
24. Assist the Treasurer/CFO in appropriation development and cost projections.
25. Assist the Treasurer/CFO in the preparation of district reports to the state auditor,
the county auditor, and the Ohio Department of Education
26. Serve as back up for other individuals within the same classification

8. The employee shall remain free from any alcohol or abuse of a non-prescribed
controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the
District.
Additional Working 1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
Conditions: 2. Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
3. Occasional interaction among unruly children.
