General Description:
As a systems engineer you will be providing System Engineering services to Agile Development Teams for Cyber related projects for the Department of Defense.You will be responsible for guiding technical solutions from idea conception to implementation readiness. As liaison between customers and development team, you will be responsible for communicating, documenting usable requirements for effective implementation of modernized solutions using Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities:
• Define and document use cases, user stories and Concept of Operations (CONOPS) for major IT modernization projects.
• Develop architecture diagrams, capability level, interface, functional and technical system requirements to define modernized systems.
• Define and document Standard Operating Procedures, User Guides and business processes in support of business activities and systems
• Ability to coordinate with system developers and cross organizational stakeholders assess and define capability modernization efforts
• Ability to define, plan and conduct user acceptance and operational test scenarios against systems and capabilities, coordinate with developers on results and feedback
• Provide estimates of scope and timelines for engineering and architecture tasks and artifacts to team leads and customers
Work Experience and Skills:
Minimum:
• Three years of experience in the federal state or local government performing system engineering tasks and activities
• Demonstrated ability to provide direction in systems development lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall, and Agile)
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of an Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Desired:
• 10 years plus experience as a systems engineer generating programmatic documentation to support system architectural and project development plans and other aspects of system engineering such as requirements analysis, design, integration, testing, deployment and operations and maintenance support.
• Demonstrated experience in the DOD/IC sector performing systems engineering tasks and activities
• Experience in Scrum SDLC
• Familiar with CAMEO Enterprise Architecture Software
• Demonstrated experience with DoDAF architecture framework
• Desired Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance
