General Description:

Decisions Oriented is seeking a mid-level DevOps Engineer to support lean innovation rapid development projects that support implementation of new cybersecurity capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to work with emerging cybersecurity technologies. In this role, the candidate will Interact with government clients and technology vendors regarding technical considerations and their associated problems, issues or conflicts. The position entails a combination of release engineering, infrastructure provisioning and management, system administration, security, and DevOps advocacy. This position also requires understanding of common system architecture, provisioning, and administration, and also experience with the traditional developer toolset and practices such as using source control, giving and receiving code reviews, writing unit tests, and familiarity with agile principles.

Responsibilities:

• The candidate will design, build and maintain a stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments throughout the development lifecycle. Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes. Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, monitoring. 

• Utilize a consistent DevOps approach to improve all phases of the process and ensure end-to-end quality across functions. 

• Knowledge of deployment/configuration management tools like Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, or Ansible. Utilizes version control tools like GIT, Bitbucket, SVN, or CVS. 

• Experienced with network infrastructure, database, cloud and data center operations, and security protocols. 

• Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows OS.

• Understands AWS and other services.

• Experience with programming and scripting with languages like Python, Bash and Powershell.

Must Have Skills:

• Sound programming knowledge in: Python & Bash. Familiar with DevOps methodology and tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Git, Docker.

• Clear understanding of APIs and web services.

• Experience with the Linux/UNIX operating system.

• Understanding of all the components of a delivery pipeline, and to know the pros and cons of available tools and services.

• Strong understanding and experience with container orchestration, continuous integration and deployment

• “Soft-skills” to communicate and collaborate effectively with teams, managers, and customers.

Qualifications:

• TS/SCI w/ CI Poly Clearance

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

• Minimum 4-7 years of directly related experience in network infrastructure, database, cloud environments.

• Experience with the Linux/UNIX operating system

• Sound programming knowledge in: Python & Bash. Familiar with DevOps methodology and tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Git, Docker. 

• Clear understanding of APIs and web services

• Familiarity with AWS and Azure cloud environments. 

• Experience with full cycle hardware/software development projects. Experience with virtualization (vSphere ESXi)
