DCS is Hiring a Mechanical Engineer Near Sterling, MI

The mechanical engineer wil provide support to the Ground Vehicle Robotic (GVR) Mission Support Team (MST).

Essential Job Functions:

Ability to distill information from various data sources and write technical reports, briefings, parse excel data, etc.

Analyze trends and plan functions and processes related to mission support branch requirements for GVR planning, logistics, inventory control and test operations to support GVR programs.

Analyze vehicle use and maintenance requirements trends and plan future maintenance and project cost and timelines to operate/replace systems.

Work with program managers as well as safety personnel to determine safety and asset handling/care requirements based on regulations and program needs.

Be able to work on several dynamic projects in parallel.

Manage inventory control via ADP or similar software system.

Analyze and organize after action reports to outline observable trends.

Compile and brief reports and briefings for leadership.

Must be able to travel to support test operations, which may involve performing duties such as ADVON planning, range safety officer and safety driver. Test sites may be in austere environments with extremes in temperature.

Some physical work at field operations will be required while at test sites.

Examples include assisting with loading/unloading trailers, vehicles and equipment to/from transport. Assisting other team members in setting up tent shelters, radio towers, etc.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Ability to travel to various test sites.

Desired Skills:

Experience with US Army ground vehicles.

Former military experience.
