DCG Communications is Hiring a Remote Senior Communications Specialist

If you are passionate about impactful work aimed at advancing the health and wellbeing of Veterans, this is the role for you! In this role, the Senior Communications Specialist will oversee design, develop and maintain communications deliverables, and perform program and project management support tasks as necessary.

The Senior Communications Specialist will handle communications products such as leadership emails, presentations, newsletters, and internal marketing. The Senior Communications Specialist will develop strategic communications plans to guide the client in diverse communications efforts. Additionally, the Senior Communications Specialist will assess the impact and success of the various communication campaigns, adjusting their approach to future products based on results and feedback from team members and the client.

Location: At DCG the majority of our team members, including this role, are remote. With over 100 employees based in 27 states (and counting!), DCG is committed to hiring talented employees across the United States. The selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours.

Position Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience supporting communications and marketing campaigns, preferably in an agency setting 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities 
  • Excellent writing skills with experience developing and/or editing a variety of communication products, including but not limited to blogs, videos, newsletters, infographics, and other communication products using plain language and AP style
  • Successful communication campaign development, implementation, and management experience
  • Proven to have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, an eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage a diverse workload 
  • Knowledge and ability to execute communication plans based on the needs of the government to influence audience awareness and/or behaviors, including creating and adjusting messaging for communication products based on research gathered and analyzed
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve and drive outcomes
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience creating written communication materials and content on behalf of federal clients highly preferred 
  • Working knowledge of VA/VHA social media platforms including VA Insider, Vantage Point, Facebook, Twitter, etc. is a plus
