DHM Properties is a large and growing Property Management Company headquartered in Albany, NY, which currently manages and operates over 7,000 apartments throughout the NY, CT, MA and NH markets. 

What the job is…

DHM Properties is currently looking for a Collections Specialist to provide administrative assistance, and support, to the corporate office in Albany, NY and to oversee company-wide collections efforts for properties including communication, negotiation, reconciliation and reporting. The ideal candidate will be able to grow into a more robust role to support the Accounts Receivable Department.

Responsibilities include: (but are not limited to)

COLLECTIONS

• Maintains database of all open account balances
• Sends correspondence, and makes phone calls, to delinquent account holders to negotiate and establish payment plans
• Manages accounts as payments are made
• Packages accounts for submission to third party collections agent, as required
• Completes monthly collections reports to track adjustments, monies paid, & written off each month
• Other duties as assigned

CREDIT

• Reviews prospective resident applications with respect to household income, credit history, and other relevant criteria and apply conditions by which each will be accepted.

Requirements

• 2 years experience with collections
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to be firm but remain kind and diplomatic
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be able to work independently as well as be a team player
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Excel
