Job Description:

MEI is seeking an IT Support Manager to join our team. In this individual contributor role, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing and managing our external IT vendor to ensure the smooth operation of our systems and infrastructure. The candidate must possess strong technical expertise, vendor management skills, and a proactive approach to optimizing IT operations within our organization.

Job Duties:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our external IT vendor, managing the relationship and ensuring the timely delivery of services and support.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess IT support needs and requirements, translating them into actionable tasks for the vendor.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to internal users as needed, complementing the services provided by the vendor.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the IT vendor to review performance, address issues, and plan upcoming projects or initiatives.
  • Coordinate the resolution of IT issues and incidents, escalating to the vendor when necessary and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Coordinate the procurement and setup of computers and other IT equipment for new hires, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Manage software licenses for employees, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and optimizing license usage.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize service delivery and efficiency.
  • Oversee the maintenance and organization of the server room, ensuring cleanliness, security, and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic IT initiatives and vendor selection.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in IT support roles, with a focus on vendor management.
  • Strong technical proficiency in IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team.
  • Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with IT security principles and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience recruiting for roles in construction, electrical engineering, or related fields.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA A , Network , Security , or CISSP.
  • Experience in the construction or engineering industry.
