Summary
Processes a variety of accounting transactions, such as invoices, payments, and expenses in accordance with department procedures. Maintains accounting files. Checks and verifies accounting data; enter data into a computerized accounting system and uses the system to research questions and generate reports. Performs related general clerical duties.
Essential Functions
• Processes account payables/account receivables, including following through on delinquent accounts
• Manages petty cash, including reconciliation and ensuring appropriate amounts are maintained at all times
• Performs account reconciliation, including client billing and statements (e.g. medical, workers comp, etc.)
• Inputs data and conducts research in the computerized accounting system and generates reports
• Prepares and maintains Group Home Rate Classification Levels (RCL) report for DCFS
• Maintains accounting files and performs general clerical work
• Compiles and calculates data and prepares ad hoc reports as needed
• Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Two years of accounting and/or related experiences
Strong computer skills utilizing Excel, Payroll software e.g. ADP and accounting software
Knowledge of accounting, including but not limited to, accounts payable and receivables, payroll, general ledger, budgeting and auditing in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Effective communication skills to support employees
Must be detail-oriented
Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), professional, physical examination, and drug testing
Physical Requirements
In the course of performing this job, the incumbent must be able to lift at least 40 lbs. Frequent sitting, twisting, typing, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Occasional walking, standing, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing and reaching.
