David Evans And Associates Inc is Hiring a Human Resources Coordinator Near PDX, OR

DEA is hiring for an HR Coordinator for a one-year temporary assignment to support our Human Resources team in Portland, OR. The position will be responsible for a variety of duties including administrative responsibilities and employee service in a fast-paced professional engineering firm.

Duties will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Employee Service:
    • Monitor “HR Questions” email box; identify appropriate resources or information; provide timely and friendly responses verbally or via email as appropriate; track and monitor any follow up steps that need to be taken to bring the issue to conclusion
    • Refer employees and managers to the appropriate resource(s) within DEA if not able to answer the question or resolve the issue, track and monitor any follow up steps that need to be taken to ensure a successful conclusion
    • Conducting exit interviews with staff via Zoom or phone, refer issues to appropriate HRBP
    • Effectively manage documentation, honor and maintain confidentiality of information shared
  • HR Business Partner Support:
    • Provide a wide range of support activities for HR Business Partners as needed such as:
      • Conducting research tasks
      • Coordination and scheduling of trainings and meetings
      • Preparing, formatting, and quality checking documents and materials in Microsoft Work, PowerPoint, or Excel such as reports, spreadsheets, letters, memos, meeting minutes, etc.
      • Creating and routing forms for signature, tracking and monitoring any follow-up steps that need to be taken to ensure a successful conclusion
  • Special Project as Assigned:
    • Provide support for a wide variety of projects that may be related to employee learning and development; compensation; benefits; recruiting and staffing; employee relations; employee performance; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and more.
  • Executive Support:
    • Support tasks for VP of HR that may include coordinating and scheduling tasks; preparing, formatting, and quality checking documents and materials, etc.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 5 years of administrative, accounting, or human resources experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal, conversational, and listening skills
  • Excellent grammar, spelling and overall communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • An Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
