As a Corporate Development and Strategy Associate, you'd work on a small team that reports directly to Dataminr’s CEO, Founder, and Chairman of the Board, Ted Bailey, focused on firmwide strategy, M&A, and Strategic Growth. 

The Corporate Development and Strategy team at Dataminr is led by Kiran Rao, who serves on Dataminr’s Executive Committee as the company’s Chief Strategy Officer, and is managed by Bryce Feuerstein, Dataminr’s VP of Strategic Growth.

Responsibilities:

• Design new strategies to bring value to the world from Dataminr's AI Platform
• Ideate and visualize competitive landscapes
• Identify and acquire companies to build out Dataminr's vision 

• Drive theexecution of complexM&Atransactions and due diligence

• Evaluate complex, ambiguous business problems using data, analysis, and market research
• Provide business analysis, financial modeling, and related support on corporate and business development projects including new business initiatives, strategic partnerships, and investment or acquisition opportunities globally
• Perform industry research and competitive analysis on global trends and opportunities for the business
• Create plans and presentations for Dataminr’s Executive Team and Board of Directors
• Partner and collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and leaders across the company

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in any field with demonstrated high standards of excellence in academics, extracurriculars, and work experience
• 2-3 years of experience in PE/VC Investing, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, and/or Product Management, Engineering Management
• Experience and/or fundamental knowledge of Capital Markets and/or M&A activities (e.g. valuations, financial planning, fundraising, technical diligence)
• Strong, proven quantitative skills including financial modeling, analysis, and/or research
• Ability to think through and solve for complex problems creatively and strategically
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate insight into content, and create structured presentations
• Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
