We are seeking a bright, self-motivated individual who will join our DevOps team to help tackle our toughest technical challenges and drive operational excellence at all levels. This engineer will work with technical teams to support the execution of Datacor’s vision. The ideal candidate understands technology deeply at both the server and infrastructure level, and at the development level, able to identify where there may be gaps between the two.

This person is deeply familiar with a variety of monitoring solutions, for both thick client and web applications, and is able to set up, configure, and use these tools to identify potential service gaps and mitigate deficiencies from ever becoming an issue; the DevOps Engineer must be able to coordinate well between a variety of vendors and technical experts. This is the role for you if you are an excellent communicator, able to eliminate jargon when necessary, yet able to dive deep into technical details when working with development staff.

The DevOps Engineer position requires active involvement; you are not afraid to get your hands dirty and dive deep into technical details when necessary. In true DevOps fashion, you care about the deployment process, continuous integration, and quality control.

Expectations of this Role:

• Build, release, and manage the configuration of all production systems
• Periodic major operating system upgrades/rebuilds for servers
• Provisioning, renewing and distributing encryption certificates
• Managing internal certificates with Active Directory Certificate Services
• Managing external certificates with both Let’s Encrypt and GoDaddy Certificate Services, depending on the service.
• Maintaining multiple virtual private networks (VPNs)
• Manage a continuous integration and deployment methodology for server-based technologies
• Ensure necessary system security by using best in class security solutions
• Implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines when applicable
• Work closely with the Development Managers in release planning, preparation, validation, post-release monitoring, and ongoing monitoring
• Monitoring and break/fix for infrastructure and applications
• Regular patching of all IaaS and on-premise servers and services (OS, .NET framework updates and SQL Server cumulative updates)

What You Will Need:

• Possess a high-level understanding in the areas of web application programming, content management systems, API, databases, and system design
• 2 years of professional DevOps experience with gradually increasing responsibilities and a demonstrated understanding of DevOps and technical quality control processes, artifacts, and tools
• Deep experience with Azure and/or AWS Cloud platforms
• Full understanding of software development lifecycle best practices (Agile/Scrum a plus)
• Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills, and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships
• Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work, both personally and at a team level
