Description PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY Under the direction of the Manager of Applications, the Director of IS, or the designee, the Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for full-scale computer systems from inception to implementation. Also, the candidate will be responsible to design, develop, and/or modify, maintain, and implement computer modules, sub-systems, and computer programs in response to user requests and in accordance with development standards and organizational goals.
The candidate will be responsible for developing software solutions by studying information needs, systems flow, data usage, work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the software development lifecycle. Also, they will be responsible for planning, processing, and performing the technical job in an efficient manner with little or no assistance from the supervisor.
The candidate will utilize state-of-the-art technology and stay current with advancements. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for making recommendations for development tools, technology, creative solutions, and for resolving user problems timely and completely.
The candidate will adhere to compliance, quality standards & design controls, keep-up with 510(k) expectations, and meet required regulations throughout the development, maintenance, and migration cycles.
Regular full time attendance is required during office hours. In addition to regularly scheduled hours, the incumbent is subject to working extra-time, weekends, holidays, late evenings, and early mornings.
Qualifications EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or equivalent years of experience.
- Oracle and/or UNIX, LINUX, Windows, and SQL Server Certification is a plus.
- Web design and development - certification is a plus.
EXPERIENCE - Eight-ten years' design and programming experience in Oracle, SQL, Forms/Reports, and Linux, Unix, and Web development environments.
- Three-five years' system design experience along with exposure to project management.
- Three to five years' trouble-shooting experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE - Experience in project life cycle methodology including documentation requirements.
- System design skills and source control compliance.
- Practical working knowledge of Linux/Unix
- In-depth knowledge of ORACLE, Oracle Forms Development Tools (forms, reports, etc.), and web programming toolsets such as JSP, Java, C#, and .Net
- Interpreting user request and system design specifications, and applying programming skills to produce a system that meets the stated requirements.
- Working independently with minimal supervision to accomplish established goals.
- Ability to develop requirements as well as technical and user-level documentations.
- Superior technical, analytical, and trouble shooting skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with users, vendors, and peers.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
