What You'll Do

The Compensation Analyst position is responsible for assisting the Senior Compensation Analyst with the integrity of compensation related expense and payable balances for all mortgage related activities, as well as the posting of company- wide payroll entries. You will apply best in class service as well as accounting principles and procedures to various reporting and transactional roles. Provide input and complete projects as directed to assist with continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of payroll generated (Paylocity) accounting entries impacting compensation (expense) and balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with the management of compensation plans for licensed employees and their supporting personnel. 
  • Serve as cross-functional resource to various departments for sales compensation and underlying costs. 
  • Support monthly financial close processes for sales compensation accounting transactions.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of applicable work papers, including timely resolution of reconciling items. 
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within the Accounting Department.
  • Review reimbursable business expenses for non-Branch Manager personnel for compliance with the Business Employee Expense Program (BEEP). 

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • One to Three or more years related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of Accounting ERP software and Excel. Payroll centric exposure.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practice, applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • High degree of functional knowledge in subject matter. Comfortable with multiple technological platforms. Exceptional attention to detail. Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel. 
  • Application knowledge, Analytical abilities, High energy level.
  • Well organized, Analytical, Positive attitude, Strong work ethic.
  • Analytical, Integrity, Adaptability, Customer Service, Communication Skills, Initiative, Planning/Organizing, Professionalism, Emotional Intelligence.
  • Office environment; extensive daily computer usage. Regular attendance based on hybrid schedule as agreed upon with Accounting Management Team.
  • Fast paced, high volume activities. Multi-tasking. Fulfillment of responsibilities and assignments meeting established deadlines.
  • To succeed in this position high attention to detail and accuracy, problem analysis and task monitoring amidst time pressures is a must. A high energy performer who enjoys learning new tasks and has a passion for continuous improvement highly desired.
