Description

Opportunity to learn a wide variety of accounting duties while serving as back up to primary responsibility holders. You will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and reconciling accounting statements, schedules and reports. Position to function as a “Utility Player” with a multi-facet role in the department.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Calculate, prepare and post general journal entries.
• Monthly general ledger closing process via preparation of journal entries and performing basic analysis of account activity.
• Voucher appraisal vendor invoices and process check requests.
• Responsible for timely and accurate reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare to adjust journal entries, reclassification entries, and other entries, as necessary.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors and respond to audit requests/questions.
• Lead/resolve research of “ad hoc” accounting questions.
• Back up and supply overflow capacity for assigned transactional roles.
• Assist with the month-end close process, as assigned.
• Assist with special projects, as required.
• Partner with the Accounting Manager to assist with process improvements for increased efficiencies and controls enhancement.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• BS in accounting from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPA or MBA is a plus, but not required.
• Two or more years of related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of Microsoft suite of products with emphasis in Excel –VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, Macros, etc.
• Knowledge of Encompass Digital Lending Platform (LOS) and Microsoft Dynamics NAV (ERO) Loan Vision are a plus.
• Familiarity and understanding of generally accepted accounting practices and principles, economic principles, applicable laws, codes and regulations.
• Experience in Mortgage Industry a plus.
