Darling Consulting Group Inc is Hiring a Risk Management Associate Near Newburyport, MA

Description

DCG’s company mission is to be a highly regarded provider of business solutions to the banking industry, primarily in the areas of financial, balance sheet, and model risk management. As a Risk Management Associate, the primary objective is to build skills such as financial analysis, written and verbal communication, and time management. This individual will be responsible for communicating with the lead consultant throughout the project and completing all assigned tasks in a timely manner to assist in the successful completion of each engagement.

Our team provides clients with independent evaluations of the reasonableness, accuracy, and appropriateness of their ALM and Liquidity models and related modeling processes. Our team includes former regulators, auditors, bankers, and finance personnel who apply those backgrounds to provide clients with more than a check-box validation. We approach each validation as an opportunity to help our clients view the engagements as a value-add, not a regulatory requirement.

Requirements

Experience/Skills You Need to Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is preferred.
  • An aptitude for analytical skills and well-reasoned judgment and decision-making in identifying and conveying complex issues and/or institution-specific strengths and weaknesses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, time management, Excel, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for onsite client consultation services.

Experience/Skills that Would Be a Plus:

  • Experience with one or more of the major asset/liability management software systems (BancWare, Empyrean, and/or ZM), regulatory agency, or accounting-audit firm.
  • Experience working with data or databases (SQL, Tableau), and/or coding skills (python, R).

What You’ll Gain:

  • You will learn to analyze how financial institutions identify, measure, monitor, and control interest rate risk and/or liquidity risk.
  • You will develop the skills needed to provide recommendations to enhance/improve ALM-related processes and the decision-making effectiveness of ALCO.
  • You will acquire the skills needed to document and communicate the validation results and recommendations to the client.
  • You will learn about the technical aspects of the IRR/Liquidity systems and regulations, trends, and developments related to asset/liability management, liquidity risk management, and the banking industry overall.

Our Company:

DCG has nearly 40 years of experience in asset/liability management, and our only business is helping banks and credit unions manage balance sheets effectively. DCG began as an ALM software company providing the BASIS model to banks and other financial institutions wanting a better tool for managing interest rate risk.

The industry recognizes DCG as a leader in asset/liability management. We are frequent speakers at major ALM industry events, FHLB meetings, and association gatherings, and we participate in discussions with regulatory bodies.

DCG is proud to have grown into an organization of more than 100 people consisting of ALM consultants, financial analysts, IT experts, and administrative staff – all of whom are focused on supporting our clients.

Our primary asset is our people. We have the most experienced asset/liability management team in the industry. We enjoy a unique culture and work environment that is both challenging and fun. We are bonded by our formal values of integrity, quality, teamwork, and success.

Here is what this means for DCG clients: DCG retains its people, and those people accumulate valuable experience. They are motivated and dedicated to applying that experience to ensure our clients are successful and satisfied.
