What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Manager position at Darigold Brand?
Darigold’s Payroll Manager is a hybrid role based out of Boise, ID. The Payroll Manager leads the payroll team to deliver timely and accurate timekeeping, payroll and reporting processes for all US based and international team members. Additionally, they are responsible for ensuring operational efficiency in timekeeping and payroll with a focus on continuous improvement and cost effectiveness.
What You Will Do
- Develops, implements, and maintains payroll procedures and controls to ensure high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Backs up payroll team to process payroll, owns INTL payroll processing.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts to increase the accuracy and efficiency of the department and company.
- Partners with Benefits, Tax, and Finance teams to support corporate audits and filings.
- Serves as functional business owner of the payroll & timekeeping systems.
- Subject Matter Expert for payroll tax requirements and relevant payroll-related laws such as FLSA, federal and state payroll taxes, IRS-related requirements for pre- and post-tax earnings and deductions, and other mandatory compliance and reporting requirements.
- Manages payroll-related tax compliance, quarter-end, and year-end processing.
- Ensures the identification and resolution of pay and benefit issues such as: wage & hour compliance, leave pay, multi-employer pension plans, multi-employer Health & Welfare plans, and deferred compensation plans.
- Partners with HR, Legal, and relevant stakeholders to ensure adherence to union contracts.
- Partners with Finance to supports payroll accounting practices, including journal entry process and general ledger account reconciliations, in accordance with GAAP.
- Sets goals and determines priorities for the payroll team that support the business and align with enterprise and HR objectives.
- Leads special projects as assigned, including but not limited to mergers & acquisitions, system implementations, policy improvements and rollouts.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
- 6 years’ experience increasing responsibility in payroll.
- 2 years’ experience leading and supervising team members either directly or indirectly.
- Strong understanding of excel, payroll systems, and reporting tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience leading small to medium sized projects.
- Experience in industry, or related field a plus
Nice to Have’s
- Current CPP designation
- Previous experience with UKG preferred.
- Previous experience with Kronos, Workforce Dimensions preferred.

- Compensation range: $86,787.00-$130,181.00 (individual wage based on previous experience, knowledge, and skills)
