Dakota Fluid Power is Hiring an Accountant I Near Sioux Falls, SD

Summary of Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility for the Accounting Assistant AP/AR is to assist in the efficient operations of the accounting department and to facilitate prompt and accurate accounting practices. Exemplify DFP standards through excellent communication and customer service for both internal staff and outside customers and vendors.

A/P Job Duties Include:

  • Print vendor invoices received via e-mail and distribute accordingly.
  • Maintain vendor files – as needed.
  • Scan Packing Lists for electronic storage.
  • Filing; packing lists; paid and unpaid invoices – as needed.
  • Sort, stuff and mail A/P checks – as needed.
  • Issue purchase orders for non-inventory purchases.
  • Cross train in all A/P functions.

A/R Job Duties Include:

  • Provide credit approvals as needed by internal staff for customers.
  • File A/R paperwork, including open invoices, and maintain customer files – as needed.
  • Manage the archiving of customer permanent files by scanning and filing electronically.
  • Scan daily A/R documents as needed.
  • Responsible for customers with specific invoicing processes.
  • Send direct ship invoices – as needed.
  • Communicate with customers and branches when customer’s account is placed On or taken Off hold.
  • Monthly; mail customer statements.
  • Cross train in all A/R functions.

General Job Duties Include:

  • Sort and distribute daily mail.
  • Sort and distribute weekly branch packets.
  • Prepare outgoing mail.
  • Maintain Applied Hours; enter daily service timecards into Excel spreadsheets.
  • Monitor and order office supplies as needed.
  • Provide administrative support in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Skills/Qualifications: Experienced with Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel; Detail Oriented; Excellent Communication Skills (Verbal & Written); Excellent Customer Service Skills; Ability to Work in Group Setting with Minimal Supervision; Motivated Self –starter; Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
