Description
The Facilities Technician will report directly to the Facilities Supervisor. This is a multi-faceted role with plenty of room for growth. The Facilities Technician is part of the Operations division, providing service across two buildings supporting multiple laboratories, administrative offices and 80-100 full-time staff. This position will be responsible for all internal and external facility maintenance, provide support to other facility activities such as inventory and fleet management, and provide support to the annual meter calibration process.
The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of how to prioritize and organize many competing priorities, a commitment to integrity, knowledge, and enthusiasm for the customers we serve and a desire to make a difference.
The Facilities Technician will:
- Have a successful track record of building and maintaining relationships across teams to solve problems, complete projects and communicate ideas.
- Have experience troubleshooting basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
- Be organized and able to work independently to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Be comfortable working with a variety of software products.
- Demonstrate a high level of initiative and a belief that productivity and fun are not mutually exclusive.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Daily maintenance of expansive facility, consisting of 2 buildings, multiple laboratories, break rooms, restrooms, and administrative offices.
- Properly address infrastructure issues either internally or through outside service providers
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff, vendor’s, and service providers.
- Provide backup assistance to facilities team members for inventory management, sample transportation management, fleet management and other operational responsibilities.
- Learn specific techniques required for repairing and calibrating meter equipment for the field. Assist in annual meter calibration duties.
- Provide general project management support as needed.
Requirements
- An Associates degree, specialized training, or certification in facilities management, construction, building trades,or related field and at least 3 years of related experience.
- Experience with the following desired: Salespad, Salesforce, Upkeep or other CMMS, Outlook Calendar are preferred.
