Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for all HR functions for their assigned sites.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Counsels managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending and implementing pay structure revisions.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
  • Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Conduct sensing sessions with employees and management in order to improve morale and facilitate change management efforts.
  • Conduct periodic audits of employee resources to ensure accuracy.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Compliance with ELS safety program policies and procedures in contracts.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the employer’s insurance policy.
  • Perform additional duties/assignments as may be required by management.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 year degree and 8 years’ experience in HR management.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • 5 years’ experience working in a multi-state environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years' experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with ADP and Kronos systems.

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
