Our optimized, real-time embedded products utilize FPGAs to create scalable solutions in the areas of autonomous machines, sensors, imaging, and robotics. Typical use cases include signal processing for high-performance sensors like 2D and 3D imagers, high speed communications (including but not limited to MIPI-CSI2, PCIe, and ethernet), and image signal processing (ISP). FPGAs and the IP cores developed for them are used heavily to solve difficult problems where traditional processors fall short.
The customers of D3 Engineering rely on our team members for low-risk solutions to problems where embedded systems are critical components of success. As an FPGA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing the IP and providing feedback to our electronics designers to take these systems from requirements to production. This is a great opportunity to join a growing digital design team, be responsible for high-performance solutions, and help drive products to production for our customers. As part of our engineering design team, you will work closely with Hardware Designers, Software Developers, Product Managers and Manufacturers to create products with innovative companies from startups to the Fortune 100.
This role is for someone with a creative mindset who has expertise in high-speed digital design for autonomous systems, advanced image sensors (RGB, Radar, GPS), image processing, computer vision, power supplies, or artificial intelligence. You will help define and architect the system, develop FPGA IP, and oversee integration, test, and verification.
Responsibilities:
Creating embedded systems in all phases of the product development cycle including; requirements definition & architecture, FPGA digital design, implementing FPGA IP, unit test, IP/hardware integration, hardware bring-up, verification and validation, and customer support
Conduct and oversee code development, design reviews, testing, debugging, and IP/hardware integration
Provide technical direction and leadership in a non-supervisory capacity for complex engineering projects
The Right Person Will Have:
Experience Developing FPGA modules or IP with Verilog or System Verilog
Experience with Hardware Description Language (HDL), Register-Transfer Level (RTL), Digital Design for FPGA Devices
Developed constraints and modified FPGA designs to close timing
Created modules or IP for image processing
Experience Creating test benches, and Performing Simulations on modules
Experience in mitigating metastability for setup and hold violations in clock domain crossings and/or asynchronous data sampling
