The candidate who fills this position will be stationed at the Human Resources Reception Desk. This position is the first point of contact to answer Human Resources related inquiries from Juvenile Court employees and the public.
Provides clerical support for Human Resources including, but not limited to, answering telephone calls, typing, copying, faxing, scanning, filing documents, compiling informational packets, and distributing mail within HR.
Compiles information for public records requests; completes wage statements and employment verifications.
Listens and responds to Human Resources related inquiries from employees and the public via telephone, e-mail, and in-person.
Schedules and administers skills testing for employees and applicants.
Prepares memos, letters, and other Human Resources related correspondences.
Orders and maintains all office supplies and equipment for Human Resources.
Coordinates setting up the facilities for training sessions led by Human Resources, maintains training records, and verifies employees’ attendance/participation at training sessions for Human Resources.
Assists employees with Benefits issues and coordinates resolutions with County Benefits Office.
Coordinates the annual dissemination of Open Enrollment information to all Juvenile Court employees and assists employees with completing their open enrollment if needed.
Performs other duties and assists with projects in Human Resources as assigned.
Has no direct supervisory responsibility for staff members.
Standard office equipment and office technology such as copy machines, personal computers and telephones.
All court-related information regarding hearings, etc. that the employee may come in contact with by working in the facility.
Works in a general office setting with moderate noise levels. Subject to frequent interruptions, quick deliverables, and changing work deadlines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, to speak clearly, and to hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Basic knowledge of Human Resources including the ability to use and interpret Human Resource related terminology and language. The ability to learn and interpret the Juvenile Court Employee Handbook and Union Contracts as well as departmental and Court practices; excellent organizational skills and the ability to successfully prioritize work assignments; ability to handle confidential material and matters; ability to perform routine job duties independently; communicate effectively in writing and verbally; ability to accurately deliver information, explain procedures, and to follow directions; knowledge of Microsoft Word and familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access; ability to compose general correspondence. Must type a minimum of 45 WPM on automated system along with good spelling and grammar; must score a minimum of 24/37 on the business etiquette test. Skills and knowledge testing will be administered prior to interviews for this position.
High School diploma required. Associates Degree in Human Resources or college coursework in a related field preferred.

Three (3) years of clerical or receptionist work in an office setting. Prior Human Resources experience is preferred.
