Senior Level Asset Management Distribution Manager (Contract)

Job Description

Cutter Associates supports the global investment management industry by combining three complementary services: Consulting, Research, and Benchmarking. We have ongoing relationships with hundreds of asset managers, asset owners, and asset servicers. Cutter currently has offices in Boston, London, and Sydney; we are growing!

We are looking for Senior Level, Asset Management Client Facing and Distribution individuals who are interested in consulting and would be open to working in a project-to-project and or a contract capacity. We are looking for people who are passionate about our industry and want to help consulting teams deliver engagements globally. As a Senior Level Client Facing contractor, you will have fifteen years or more of experience within an asset manager. With that knowledge and experience, you will provide subject matter expertise, project management, and program management on consulting engagements in a specific functional area. You will possibly lead and manage large and small projects and mentor teams of consultants.

We are currently looking specifically for Senior Level Contractors who have experience in any one or more of the areas in our Client Facing Practice (see areas below). You can live anywhere in the US and most all of the work will be remote, with some initial travel possibly required.

Qualifications

You will have fifteen years or more experience in the asset management industry. Prior consulting experience is preferred. You will have been in a business leadership role or an enterprise leadership role that specifically supports the processes and systems in the following client-facing areas:

  • Intermediary & Institutional distribution , sales enablement, marketing, client service, consultant relations, product development, client/account/product/employee data masters, and client reporting

You will have the following skills:

  • Have program/project management skills; be able to lead the work of others.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage teams and complex programs.
  • Be experienced with requirements analysis and process improvement; have the ability to propose innovative yet pragmatic solutions.
  • Be able to read an audience, diagnose a situation, be persuasive, gain the confidence and respect of senior-level executives, handle conflict, and negotiate with the client.
  • Have a structured, disciplined approach to work and time management, with attention to detail.
  • Be able to create high-quality client deliverables using MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Act as an expert in multiple client-facing systems and functional areas.
  • Able to lead large programs or be leveraged across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Interface with and maintain ongoing relationships with executive management.
  • Successfully complete projects by meeting client goals, timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Gather, analyze, and document the current state organizational structure, business processes, data, and technology architectures using a variety of methods (documentation, interviews, surveys, workshops) to identify their issues and challenges.
  • Lead workshops to design new business processes, change organizational models, gather data requirements, and define technology architecture to improve business functions.
  • Create a roadmap for the implementation of a future state; develop change management approaches and plans as appropriate.
  • Perform vendor searches and selection for systems and services where appropriate.
  • Implement data governance, design business nomenclature, taxonomy, and business glossaries for client-facing data domains.
  • Prepare clients for implementation of client-facing technology (e.g., workflow redesign, creation of client journeys, client website functionality, client service portal design).
  • Interface with software vendors, industry experts, senior management, and distribution IT staff of leading asset management firms.
