Ensures efficient operations of CMM Warehouse, Freezer and Dry Goods areas. Responsibilities include financial

management, operational performance and analysis, planning and execution, distribution, fleet management, inventory

management, vendor management, and leadership, including performance management. Develops and implements systems/ tools to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

Position Purpose

Plan, direct, and coordinate the storage and distribution operations of products and materials. Maintains a stable, organized and effective warehouse. Responsible for all aspects of the distribution activities for the plant including P&L, customer satisfaction, inventory, shipping and receiving and delivery of products. Ownership and maintenance of the company’s inventory management system including month-end and year end physical inventory process, pick / put processes, cycle counts and inventory adjustments.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Establish standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, and shipping ofproducts and materials.
• Arranges adequate space requirements for storage of products and develops changes in distribution techniques and practices.
• Ensure all product is scanned in and out correctly and communicate and help resolve any issues in a timely manner.
• Plan, develop and implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities. Ensures OSHA compliance and proper layout in all areas of the warehouse.
• Review work orders, consumption reports and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and issue work assignments.
• Evaluates and recommends shipping deadlines, and takes corrective action to eliminate behind schedule conditions.
• Ensure inventory levels meet weekly, monthly and quarterly requirements. Achieves order cycle count metrics on as consistent basis including daily and weekly cycle counts.
• Develops, implements and maintains appropriate loss prevention standards and immediately communicates any potential discrepancies.
• Ensures proper cold chain compliance regulating temperatures throughout the supply chain.
• Overseas the proper operation, maintenance and repair of all warehouse related equipment.
• Schedule surface pickup, delivery, or distribution of products or materials.
• Identifies, outlines, develops and maintains process improvement programs (LEAN Methodologies) that will help the team increase accuracy and maximize efficiencies and productivity to ensure a best-in-class warehouse.
• Builds and post weekly schedules to the forecasted hours and ensures hours worked are within budget.
• Develops, implements and maintains appropriate loss prevention standards.
• Maintain daily production boards including productivity, issues and enhancements.
• Develop, train and coach associates engaged in receiving, storing and shipping products or materials for future career advancement. In addition, ensure associates are trained and adhering to all department and company policies.
• Ensure associates are providing customer satisfaction through proper product selection for quality, quantity, accuracy and proper loading to protect the product.
• Assists in development of training materials to support department functions. Trains new and existing associates on proper processes and procedures.
  
  • Perform work procedures using Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to ensure food safety.
  • Adheres to all safe quality food (SQF) requirements and standards in CMM. Including the proper handling of all produce according to SQF standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • This position if absent will be covered by the same level or the next higher level of leadership.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of related Warehouse and Operations experience
• Food Manufacturing Industry with expertise
• Highly motivated, hands-on, results driven, forward thinking professional who can thrive in a team-oriented environment
• Forklift Certified
• College Degree preferred
• Bi-lingual (reading, writing and speaking) in Spanish preferred

Located in a refrigerated warehouse environment. Must be able to stand for periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body and walk. Must be able to work in a cold cooler environment (36 degrees and below). Minimal travel may be required; less than 10%.
