Custom Computer Specialists is Hiring an Associate Systems Engineer (2468) Near Queens, NY
- Overall success of the technical services assigned to them under the program.
- Surveying and documenting existing networks
- Configuration of network and wireless equipment
- Integration of wireless networks in NYC schools including Cisco and Meraki Wireless gear
- Compliance with Program’s technical standards.
- Completing all Program defined deliverables in a timely manner
- Identify and communicate issues in a timely manner
- 2 to 3 years experience in implementing wireless networks
- Technical skills in the area of Networking and Wireless technologies
- Ability to quickly get up to speed on contractual requirements and standards
- Experience in Quality Management
- Solid aptitude across Microsoft Office Suite - especially Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Must be willing to work 2nd shift hours (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM) at client sites through NYC on a regular basis (potentially daily for several months).
- Proficient in English
- Qualified candidates should possess the following technical skills:
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in LAN/WAN environments with responsibility for maintaining network services, security & administration
- Experience in Windows 2016/2019 Server in LAN/WAN environments
- Cisco Infrastructure and Meraki Wireless experience/knowledge
- A thorough understanding of network infrastructure and protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, IPX, AppleTalk)
- Knowledge of VLAN structures and configuration backup
- At least one major network certification (CCNA, etc.)
- General knowledge of content delivery engines and proxy servers
- Desktop OS, NOS and application support experience
