Cuningham is Hiring an Interior Designer | #ML00077 Near Culver City, CA

We are eagerly looking for a highly creative, experienced Interior Designer II to join our themed entertainment team and to share our vision to dream big, be daring and create change. We would love to add to our team in our Culver City, Las Vegas and Minneapolis offices but are open to those in a non-Cuningham office location as well (remote).

Candidates should have two to eight years of experience, preferably but not limited to hospitality or themed entertainment related design. The successful candidate will collaborate on interior design efforts on multiple projects including collaborating on design with a multi-disciplinary team, preparing presentations, selecting and specifying materials and FF&E, creating construction documents, coordinating with consultants and contractors, developing graphics. We strive to innovate and look for our team members to have a learning mindset and come to the table with creative solutions.

What you will do

  • Engage in the design process, in collaboration with design leaders, through all phases of the project delivery.
  • Integrate regenerative design approaches and emerging practices into design solutions.
  • Create presentations and present designs both internally and externally.
  • Research, select, and specify furnishings, fixtures, equipment, finishes and lighting that meet both client and company-based design and performance goals.
  • Communicate design intent for custom design features and coordinate from early ideation through sampling/mock-ups and final install.
  • Utilize Revit to prepare construction documents including technical plans, finish plans, elevations, and details.
  • Coordinate specifications and demonstrate a complete understanding and completion of a drawing set and project deliverables.
  • Establish relationships with clients, user groups, consultants and contractors and coordinate work requests as appropriate. 
  • Project expectations will include travel approximately once per month.
What we look for
  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design.
  • 2 years' experience, working in an Architecture/Interior Design firm.
  • Interest in (experience with) hospitality and themed entertainment design, preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam and good hand-drawing skills.
  • Revit skills strongly desired, basic skills a preferred.
  • 3D Rendering skills in Enscape, preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with teams in order to build professional relationships across the firm
  • Exhibits daily discipline and time management skills towards meeting deadlines.
  • Leads with curiosity and creativity, ready to solve the design problems at hand.
  • Actively seeks feedback and opportunities to learn and improve, taking responsibility for career growth.
