Cumberland International Trucks is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to serve our diesel customers in and around the Murfreesboro, TN area. Our diesel techs/mechanics diagnose, repair & maintain heavy diesel trucks, but most importantly they make a difference in the service department and find solutions for our customers to insure they keep coming back. Responsibilities include minor to major diagnostics and repairs, preventative maintenance: tires, clutches, brakes, transmissions, hydraulics, etc. *Cummins engine repair & rebuild experience required. *3 years of diesel field or mobile service experience required, as you'll be servicing customer trucks on-site wherever needed, running your own schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conducting field or roadside visits in case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
• Reviewing work orders to evaluate necessary tasks / Preparing plans after fully assessing issues
• Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines & interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
• Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering & electrical / Repairing or replacing transmissions, brakes, engines & other associated parts
• Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance / Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment & brake checks
• Maintaining records of parts inventory & serviced vehicles

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience diagnosing & working on diesel engines & electrical repair 
• Experience with Cummins, Detroit, & CAT engines is a plus / ASE certifications & OEM training are a plus
• Strong sense of commitment to the customer & service team / Conducts oneself in a professional manner 
• Valid driver's license with ability & willingness to obtain a CDL license
