Senior Transportation Engineer
The CSRS Transportation Practice is actively seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to join our Team. The Senior Transportation Engineer will need to be available to report to a CSRS office in Louisiana (Baton Rouge, Lafayette, New Orleans, or Lake Charles) or Texas (Houston or Dallas). The Senior Transportation Engineer will focus on the management of roadway design projects related to transportation infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead project teams in the development and delivery of designs for transportation projects of varying scope and complexity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises and directs groups of engineers and technicians
- Responsible for providing technical insight, decision making, and team direction
- Responsible for budget and manpower estimates
- Prepares and facilitates proposals
- Independently determines approach to assigned tasks and provides overall project direction
- Exercises substantial initiative and judgment in work methods and in interpreting goals
- Leads design of roadway projects including coordination with traffic, bridge design, transportation planning, and environmental.
- Reviews and leads in the development of the preparation of engineering reports, plans and specifications for major and minor projects.
- Prepares and reviews preliminary and final plans and technical specifications, contract documents and estimates, and make recommendations for additions, deletions and substitutions when modifications are necessary.
- Communicates and interacts with project team members, review agencies and others as appropriate to project.
- Possesses knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques, including AASHTO guidelines.
- Skill in Microstation V8i and Inroads desired but not required.
- Skill in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks without immediate and constant supervision.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineer License in Texas or Louisiana.
Experience: 15 years
