Credence Management Solutions, LLC is Hiring an Information Specialist Near Washington, DC

Overview

The Global Health Training, Advisory and Support Contract (GHTASC) delivers effective global health programming to advance the mission of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Global Health (GH) through institutional support and workforce development services from junior, mid-level, senior and expert advisory and administrative professionals.

Credence Management Solutions, LLC (Credence) is seeking an Information Specialist within USAID’s Bureau for Global Health, Emerging Threats Division (ETD) under GHTASC.

Summary Statement

The goal of USAID’s Global Health Security (GHS) Program managed by ID/ETD is to work with partner countries and the global community to build better preparedness for future health threats. GHS projects address the full spectrum of global health security including strengthening partner country capacity, workforce development, surveillance, risk identification and reduction, increased international support for global health security, outbreak response, and research and development. USAID’s GHS Program also implements the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) with other USG Departments and Agencies.

The Information Specialist is a member of the Emerging Threats Division (ETD) within the Office of Infectious Disease and will work with the team coordinating infectious disease outbreak response in close coordination with USAID bureaus and offices; USG interagency; and external partners. Coordinating outbreak response includes working closely with USAID Missions to support on-the-ground response needs as well as ensuring alignment with interagency and global response strategies.

Job Requirements

The Information Specialist will support outbreak response through developing and disseminating information to effectively communicate characteristics of outbreaks and USAID’s response role and actions. The Information Specialist is responsible for compiling and organizing epidemiologic, programmatic and budgetary data for a variety of products aimed at a diverse audience, including USAID, U.S. interagency, external partners and the public.

Responsibilities

Information Management & Documentation:

  • Compile, compose and disseminate data and information on outbreak response functions and actions;
  • Develop situational assessments, fact sheets, presentations, briefers, talking points, memos, and other official correspondence for a variety of audiences including GH and Agency leadership, USAID Missions, NSC, interagency, external partners, among others;
  • Coordinate with ETD team and across USAID, Missions, cooperating partners, interagency partners and external partners to access accurate, up-to-date programmatic, epidemiologic, and logistical data;
  • Develop effective visual presentations (e.g., maps, charts, graphs, images, etc.) of response data, including epidemiologic characteristics, geographic scope and programmatic support;
  • Obtain necessary approval and clearances for information products and official documents;
  • Working with ETD staff, develop a summary document at the termination of an outbreak and, annually, covering all outbreak responses in the preceding year; and
  • Support collection and compile data for monitoring response actions against outbreak response metrics. 

Information Systems Support

  • Develop templates for key information documents such as briefers, memos and situational assessments;
  • In coordination with technical advisors, develop templates and document after action reviews and simulation exercises;
  • Draft meeting and call notes, indicating topline information, decision points and next steps;
  • Develop system to track day-to-day chronology of response actions for after action reviews;
  • Create and manage information product distribution list and procedures;
  • Ensure adequate organization of outbreak response related documents; and
  • Collect and make arrangements for distribution of material to the USAID missions, USAID/W offices, host country institutions, and cooperating agencies.

Global Health Security Program Support:

  • Both during and in-between outbreak responses, provide content for communication materials such as fact sheets and press releases in close collaboration with ETD Communications Officer.
  • Support GHS program documentation as needed;
  • Collaborate with GHS staff in supporting field as necessary;
  • Provide backstopping when necessary; and
  • Assist USAID missions and GHS field staff as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree and 4 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree and 6 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience working on international health or humanitarian programs
  • Experience with data/information organization and management and developing effective visual presentations
  • Experience communicating complex technical information to a diverse audience through visual and written products
